Oh, and can anyone tell me when I'm going to hit...

this "sexual peak" that women are supposed to reach in their mid-30's? (That is when it's supposed to be, right?) Because I keep waiting for it, and it's just not cumming. ;) (Pun intended.)

OK. Seriously though. I'd say Steve and I have a fairly good sex life. Several times a week. Sometimes quickies. Sometimes good crazy monkey sex (that was for EE... LOL! And I should add that I have NO idea what kind of sex monkeys have, but it sounds funny, so...). And I'd say I'm raring to go a few days a month where I'm insatiable.

But when will I need to have sex. You know... where if you don't have it, you literally feel like you're going to explode? Does that ever happen? Because I'd like it to. And I'm pretty sure Steve wouldn't mind it so much either.

And am I the only one that seems to get the horniest when my husband isn't here? Because there are days where I really, really want it. To the point where I seriously can't wait until it happens. But then, by the time he gets home and the kids are asleep and we get the chance for it, I'm just too damn tired. Do you still go at it anyway? Or just go to bed? Because I normally just go to bed.

(And while we're here... as I was typing this, I wondered where the hell the term "horny" came from. Anyone know? LOL!)

I don't think you will have many husbands that will disagree. When are our wives going to hit their sexual peak??? I know that my wife, after the kids have gone to bed, and we finish cleaning up, she is too tired!! I am NEVER that tired!! :-)

Hmmmm, now I know when my husband backs off and doesn't want any/or as much is when I want it the most (think back like 5mo ago, remember?). And both times I was pg I wanted it all.the.time.

I think my problem may also be that when I really, really *do* want it (am horny.........that is the weirdest word) I just "take care" of things myself. LMAO ((((husband))))

I wonder all the time if I'm going to hit my thirties and become some slobbering horndog. Because it sure as hell ain't happening now.

I get horniest when Dave's at work. Sometimes I can put it off and yeah, we go at it like crazy monkeys when he gets home. But other times, like EE, I take care of it myself. ;)

i think i was a slobbering horndog when i was 19-23 lol. I remember those days when Peter and I were like freakin' rabbits constantly on each other...while he hasn't slowed his urges at all...i'd just rather sleep lol.
And on those instances when i do want it and he's not home...when he does get home and we get a chance the feelings gone and i'm too tired to do anything about it anyway.

That is the whole irony of it all. When we hit our sexual peak it happens when we are more likely to have a messy house, kids, bills, etc... Sigh. LOL.

The word horny "sexually excited, lecherous" derives from an interesting yet not surprising source. As early as the mid-18th century, an erection was known as a horn or the horn, simply because it looked a bit like one. James Joyce even used the term in his Ulysses. From there, any man having the horn was called horny, and this is first recorded in 1889. It was surely in use long before then, as the horn probably was. It often takes some time for lewd slang to make it into the written record.

They say women have a "window" of time while they're horny. Mine almost always occurs at the most inopportune times. If I wait, I'm totally not turned on anymore when there's a chance to act on it. Men are continuously horny. I WISH there was a "window" for them. Or an "off" switch lol.

There is a window for us too. It is from the age of 17-55!

anon: 17-55 i don't think so...i'm thinking 24/7/365 from the time you are 14 until the time you die

Yeah, LMAO, my sexual peak was in my teens and early twenties too. I wanted it and had it all the freakin time. ;)

Allison, I really started to hit it around 35-36. I would say the last 2-3 years I have been at my highest level ever.

I'm with Tink. An "off" switch would be nice. Because I just don't understand how me sitting on the toilet taking a piss makes him horny.

Janet said...

LOL! Eric always asks if I need help when I go pee! Excuse me, how the heck can that turn him on?????

Tink said...

Hoop has sat on me a couple times while I'm peeing. It's the weirdest sensation: peeing with someone sitting on you and carrying on a whole conversation. I don't think he's ever been turned on by that though. Although when is he NOT turned on?

Still trying to find my "peak" too. *sigh*

Oh and since I'm BF, I have no desire whatsoever. It sucks.

EE said...

LMAO! Janet my husband says the *EXACT* same thing to me!

ee, our hubbies are very
similar:-) God help us!

Hmm...if I haven't hit my sexual peak yet, I might hurt someone when I do...

Oh, and according to the person on this site the word "horny" is explained this way:
"Horny" came from "horn" in the 1300's and is simply its adjectival form. I presume, however, that the question is meant to elicit some explanatory force betwixt the sense of sexual arousal and a state of being like a horn. The idea is that erectile tissues which respond to arousal are hard as horns are hard. It may also ring for a native speaker of the language that the phallus is horn shaped and that a satyr has horns and is renowned for its amorous nature.

Janet you just made my night - LOL! There is hope for my sex life yet, according to you. I've been worrying that I already hit mine and it's over and I missed it. Phew!

Dear Fellow Bloggers:

I also often "take care of myself" on particularly bad days. But I try not to because once I do that, I really don't have any urge to go jumping on Steve's bone when he walks through the door. Now that's all fine and dandy by me, but my poor husband is already so deprived of sex (according to him... no one else), that I figure I really should give him a good romp too when I happen to be horny, no?

EE said...

No. ;)

LMAO, I'm kidding, I totally understand what you are saying.

Anonymous said...

Do you ladies tell your hubbies that you "took care of yourself"? We find that to be such a turn-on! :-) (but when AREN'T we turned on I guess?)

Alien said...

Anon: More often than not, no, I don't tell him. Not because I'm embarrassed or I care. But because I don't want him pissed if I then don't want to have sex that night since I've now satisfied myself. LOL!

Anonymous said...

Ha Ha! I can see where that would be a sore point! "Oh, you had time to take care of you, but can't help me out?"
;-)

Emily said...

Is my H the only one that treats "taking care of myself" as cheating? lol

Not that I let that stop me...I mean he does work out of town and is only here on weekends...what else is a girl to do?

EE said...

Sometimes I tell him, sometimes I don't. It *does* turn him on and if I'm not in the mood for him to BE turned on, I don't bring it up.

It's actually something he asks me everyday, lol. And if he outright asks me (like he does most days) then yes, I tell him.

Anonymous said...

Emily, your husband looks at it as cheating? So you have to hide it? That's too bad. I love hearing my wife say she "took care of herself", I also love to watch her take care of herself!!
