Highlights and Observations of My Day (Monday)...

1) Took the girls to the park this morning, where I witnessed a police officer pull up and shoot a goose in the lake at point blank range. He then drove over and said he did it because they're having a real "issue" with the goose shit at the park (which is true), so he has a permit to kill one per day. Um, alrighty then... (The girls didn't see it. Just heard the shots.)

2) Walked from one end of the large park to the other three times looking for Grace's stuffed cheetah we thought she left in the corner store on the first trip. We eventually found it sitting on a bench at the playground... where, um, I had left it. DOH!

3) The three trips exhausted Hannah enough that she fell asleep as soon as we arrived home.

4) Grace fried the TV in the playroom today and I'm hoping once it dries out it works again. Otherwise, it could have fairly disasterous results for everyone living here. *sigh*

5) Apparently, Grace and Hannah didn't connect with their crack dealer today, because they were actually very well behaved and Grace was downright angelic most of the day.

6) I am well aware this won't last, but please let me live in my fantasy world until tomorrow. Thank you.

7) Washing dishes in the bathroom sink after a party for about 80-90 guests blows. Big time.

8) Steve finally changed the lightbulb in Grace's ceiling fan today (the only light in there). I realize this sounds like no big deal, but I've been bugging him for weeks. And yes, I could have done it, but it would've involved dragging the stepladder upstairs, finding a screwdriver, etc. and frankly, I just didn't feel like it. Sue me.

9) Received my college's alumni "magazine" in the mail today with updates of classmates and realized I really didn't like most of the people on campus, and that my friends are way too cool to even send in updates.

10) Number 10 is dedicated to Peter Jennings. Because he rocked and I'm sad. :(

And you know Grace was well behaved because I was such a good influence on her... ;)

He SHOT the damned goose?! What kind of freaky-ass police do y'all have?!

Yes Melissa, I believe he had a permit. LMAO! And a township worker was with him to collect the remains and take them with him. And there are no lights there so he really COULDN'T shoot them at night.

Now believe me, I was a little freaked too, but the goose crap really IS a problem. Little kids are stepping in it and falling in it. The older kids try to play basketball and they end up dribbling the ball in it which means it ends up on their hands, etc. There are big piles EVERYWHERE.

I'm not necessarily saying I *support* it. But it really IS a problem there lately.

Oh, and we were the ONLY people there and he warned me before he did it. Only he told me he was "going to be shooting" so to keep the kids at the other end of the park. He didn't tell me he was going to actually be shooting AT a living creature. LOL!

Gunshots in a park?! Sounds like a park in Atlanta. LOL.

He SHOT the goose??? Doesn't he know they mate for life?? BASTARD!! I'm not even going to get into the whole "people are taking over the goose's natural environment" arguement with you again. (((Goose)))

LOL! Tracey, it's a PARK. For CHILDREN and FAMILIES. Not a damn strip mall or something. PIMP!

Oh so then it's good that he killed in it's home? hehehe

Suggest they use wolf/coyote/dog cut outs and move them every day or every other day. It keeps all the geese away from the airport and golf courses here. Then no one has to die :)

Well actually, the lake IS a man-made lake, so technically, the geese are "invading" the human's land. ;)

And I'm not going to suggest anything. I'm not saying I HOPE they kill more geese. But frankly, I don't really care enough to make it my latest "cause" or anything. Sorry. LOL!

*shaking my head* come on now Allison. You need a cause. This is the PERFECT cause. You and Tracey could pair up so there is not so much amnimosity on the board (yes I know you guys joke around). You could be know as the lady that saved dozens of geese from being blown to bits.
