Talkin' Turkey...

At 7:00 this evening, my oh-so-cultured husband decided to pop in his new DVD on the art of turkey calling. That's right, my friends. You read that right. Turkey calling for the love of god. Turkey hunting season started last week, and apparently, Steve feels he needs a few pointers in his calling techniques. So it's 7:00 at night, he's blaring the TV (because I swear to god, he's half deaf... He has to be...) from which bearded men in camoflauge are demonstrating turkey calls. Now for those of you who have never heard someone doing turkey calls, lemme tell ya, they ain't quiet. Not in the least. Turkeys are loud mother fuckers.

So anyway, we have the men on TV calling, and then we have Steve practicing his own turkey calls in the living room. So here I sat, with Grace and Hannah in the next room fighting over who had the purple Play-Doh first, the TV blaring turkey calls, and Steve practicing his own. It was all I could do to not just pretend I was a turkey myself and shoot myself in the head.

Seriously now. Rednecks unite. [sigh]

---------------------------------------------------------------

Grace had her kindergarten entrance "exam" this morning. She kicked ass and did really well. My baby is starting kindergarten in a few months. *sniff sniff*

---------------------------------------------------------------

Afterwards, my sister, Grace and I headed to The World's Largest General Store (that's really what it's called) for hours of entertainment. So I have my four-year-old running ahead of me (like usual), and my sister (still on crutches) lagging behind, with me in the middle. Seriously. I should've just gone by myself. Female bonding my ass.

Great TV night...

Was thrilled with the results of American Idol. I can't explain why I don't like the person that was voted off, but I just don't. Perhaps it that this person makes me think of helium and Minnie Mouse every time his/her name is mentioned? Or that she/he shares a name with another famous person that I would like to see thrown under a bus? I dunno. The point is, I was happy (which is really all that matters).

LOVED "Lost" tonight, and almost shit my pants at the end. Oh... my... GOD! (It does, however, explain how they dealt with one particular character's real-life sentencing to prison for a DUI conviction. You drink and drive in real life, you get whacked on the show. Sucks to be you, huh?) AND I'm pissed b/c now we'll never know why Libby wasn't telling Hurley she knew him from the mental hospital, dammit. [sigh]

And "Amazing Race"? Holy shit! You couldn't ask for a better freakin' ending than that! Holy CRAP! What is the deal with MoJo though? They started out the show in the beginning of the season and I kind of liked them. Not as annoying as I initially thought they'd be. But the past few weeks, they're just assholes. And if she cries or whines one more time, I swear to god, I'm going to hunt her down and bitch slap her. Shut up for the love of god. Put on your big girl panties and get over it! And I have a question. That member of the last place team who was shoeless when told it was a non-elimination round... he does get his shoes back for the next leg of the race, right? Because that would suck. LOL!

LMAO! MY husband has listened to elk calling DVD's, those, I imagine, are similar to the lovely turkey calling ones. *snort* I would have wanted to shoot myself too.

Yes, VERY happy about AI. And WOO HOO, Tayler just *rocks*, I was so happy to see him get to stay first.

Lost....O...M...F...G. Good stuff.

Haven't seen AR yet, so I skimmed past that, lol.

I'm pissing myself at the turkey calling DVD. Good times at your house last night, eh?

And I agree with you about who got voted off AI (not like I even watch anymore), Lost (I do think we'll find out the deal with Libby, or else I don't think Hurley would have said, "Hey then maybe I can figure out where I know you from") and AR. MoJo suck.

EE -- I'm not sure how many more -- three or four I think. They're all new until the end.
